Dead Sea Scrolls:Magnificence of the Universe!

Dead Sea Scrolls:Magnificence of the Universe!

The Dead Sea Scrolls (also known as Qumran Scrolls) were discovered in 1947, in caves from the Dead Sea shores.  They consisted of at least 870 scrolls written on animal skins.  The scrolls contain prophecies by Daniel Ezekiel, and Jeremiah and not found in the Bible. The scrolls address commentary on the Torah,  community laws, rules of engagement, psalms, benedictions, liturgical  text, and wisdom writings.

The most amazing and convicting scroll is of Isaiah.  It is over 1000 years older than Book of Isaiah in the Bible and it corroborates the findings of the Hubble Telescope.  It is considered the oldest of Old Testament manuscripts ever discovered. Now for the amazing part of the find.  It directly speaks to the power of God as the architect of the stars, even to the point of naming each star.  Can you imagine counting all of the stars and remembering the name of each!

Isaiah 40:25-26

“To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?” asks the Holy One. “Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.”

According to author J. Paul Hutchins’s book, Hubble Reveals Creation by an Awe-Inspiring Power, which will be released at New York City’s BookExpo America this summer, the ancient prophet Isaiah recorded what appears to be a “divine invitation from God to mankind,” inviting people to explore divinely questions through the stars.

“Hutchins asserts that when Isaiah wrote about the power behind the universe, he did not have the benefit of a powerful space telescope, yet his description matches the discoveries made by Hubble in recent years of powerful galaxies like the Sombrero Galaxy. The Sombrero with its ominous glow at its center exhibits unimaginable energy. The glow is made up of eight hundred billion stars like the Earths’ sun, which gives the galaxy the appearance of a Mexican sombrero hat.” Source

2 Peter 1:21

21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

I never understand how people will believe a psychic is accessing information from another realm; but, a prophet can not receive information from the Holy Spirit.  Some will argue this means nothing and this is nothing more than the chatter of a man looking into the night sky.  Hutchins might not be far off when he compares the Sombrero Galaxy to an army of stars because that is exactly how it looks!
