Fish Gods, Mermaids and Early Humans

Fish Gods, Mermaids and Early Humans

Animal Planet has been busy promoting theories on mermaids and early humans. In one segment, they travel back 6.5 million years to Africa where early “humans” covered in thick layers of hair, migrated to beaches to forage for food.  Their whole theory is based on evolution and it raises many common sense issues. Like if early humans were evolving in Africa, why the genetic evolution of thick hair? Shouldn’t they have been hair-less in order to release excessive heat?

In my opinion, the Animal Planet theory does not hold water. Early Sumerian cuneiform artwork of humans illustrated hair-less bodies  which conforms with the African environment. These early “humans” depicted in the Animal Planet documentary are clearly not indigenous to the African environment, especially the climate. To suggest these hairy cavemen evolved into aquatic humans is highly unlikely.

Next, Animal Planet delved into mermaids with a highly debatable recovery of a mermaid’s body. Although, highly unlikely to be an actual mermaid, it is plausible according to ancient text, they once existed. The Sumerians (as Enki) and the Babylonians recorded the history a deity or fish god — Oannes.  He was a mer-man who was credited with giving mankind comprehensive knowledge on every facet of our existence. This bearded fish god had the upper body of a man and the lower half was all fish.

Actually, there is a correlation to Oannes and the fish god, Dagon, who is incidentally reflected in the ceremonial costumes of the Catholic Church. From a Biblical perspective, Dagon was considered a pagan god who was a competitor to Yahweh. As you can see, the fish god has never left and clearly indoctrinated in the modern Catholic church. At one time, mermaids where commonly accepted by seaman and historians. There is a schism, regarding the beauty of mermaids, because some were said to be hideous up close.

Obviously, if we are to accept evolution (which does not support itself) the early African men were hairless and advanced because of a fishy tale of water gods. Conversely, the European cave dwellers where covered in thick pelts of hair in order to survive extremely cold environments. The scientific community has acknowledged all of mankind’s mitochondrial DNA can be traced to one woman in Africa. If we accept Dr. Frances Cress Welsing’s, work presented in the “Isis Papers,” mankind evolved based on geographic location and ozone layer radiation differentials.

These differentials caused gene mutations to adapt to the new environments and some with extreme effects because of the radiation. A good example would be the European nose growing longer in order to constrict and heat air up.  While the African nose became wider in order to release air quicker and to cool it. Many years ago, I heard Diane Sawyer of “Good Morning America” validate Dr. Welsing’s theory from the scientific community — without giving her credit.

The bottom line is — we have evolved but not because of evolution, (per say) but because of genetic adaptation coupled with radiation.  I have not encountered one Sumerian, Babylonian or Egyptian illustration reflecting man as a hairy ape like creature. The archeologist are always correcting previously accepted theories like the Sphinx. It is now accepted, as being at least 10,000 years older than previously thought.  This was deduced because of water markings on the base of the Sphinx. Ironically, when Herodotus (the father of Greek history) visited Egypt, he saw only the Sphinx head protruding from a lake!

Understanding, the Sphinx was more than just a monument but a building submerged underwater is key to connecting ancient fish deities with ancient culture. The pieces begin to neatly fit together and provides us with an insight into our ancient past. These fish gods were real and Animal Planet has connected bits and pieces of the past but not the whole picture.
