Spiritual Principles: The Law of Empty

Spiritual Principles: The Law of Empty

We are happy to announce the start of our “Spiritual Principles” series,  in order to share with our readers, on how to apply spiritual teachings from the Bible to your life.  Many people who attend and do not attend church believe being a good person (and being saved) is all you need to do, to achieve the spiritual power, Jesus demonstrated in His short time on earth. Mankind has marveled at their own intellect over the mind of The Most High.

Jesus practiced spiritual principles which allowed the physical manifestation of spiritual laws in His life and those He directed it. These spiritual principles are accessible to us all if we know how to tap into them. This includes first recognizing The Most High is real, spirit is real, and there is a tangible spiritual kingdom with spiritual mechanics. Accepting Jesus, as Lord, Savior, and part of the Godhead is the first step.

This is where most people stop in the application of the spiritual laws into their lives. Following the spiritual principles is much like losing weight and keeping the weight off forever. You do not go on a diet — you change your diet.  So in essence, when seeking spiritual truths you change the way you think — forever; thereby changing your heart.  The life of Jesus was an example for us but many of the stories of His life, have deep spiritual knowledge hidden in metaphors and symbols.

The first step we are going to discuss is what I call “The Law of Empty” and this is critical for the following:

  • inner peace
  • spiritual fulfillment
  • spiritual attraction
  • empathy toward others
  • creates a circuit to the realm of spirit

How is this even possible you ask? Because it is a law unto itself.  Think of yourself as a very expensive crystal vase (because we all have great value to the Creator) and in this vase you pour in a cup of the following, your ego, desires, beliefs, fears, and an array of emotions. Now the vase (you) is filled to the brim. This is your body and guess what? Now there is no room for the Holy Spirit to fill your body.

You must release all of these physical attachments in order to be filled with spiritual power. The secret is staying aware you need to release your ego, desires, beliefs, fears, and array of emotions. It is only then are you trusting in Him. This is when you become aware of the invisible hand which orchestrates matters in your life. Knowing, is half the battle but practice makes perfect. Let’s take a look at how Paul shared this incredible spiritual insight with us.

2 Corinthians 12: 7 – 10

So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations,a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Let’s translate what this means and how to apply it to our lives. When we become self-centered and full of pride The Most High allows us to be tormented causing despair.  This despair causes our ego to lose its power over us and eventually we become empty inside.  Although, Paul was saved and asked The Lord to have this torment removed from his life, the Lord basically said — I know what is best for your spiritual growth, so suck it up.

Now here is the diamond of understanding to all of us who can hear this lesson — spiritual power becomes perfect when we are at our lowest point. It is this way the spirit can fill our body and we create a circuit to the realm of spirit. Allowing spiritual laws to manifest in our lives. The Lord takes care of the birds everyday and you know what? The birds expect it — so it is.  When Paul understood it is best to have his ego suppressed and his life in despair, he began to accept this as the path to spiritual growth.

When your life appears to be spiraling out of control you need not lean on your own understanding because The Most High has a plan for you — and all of us.

Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Knowing this we must take one day at a time. Leave the past in the past and do not worry about tomorrow. Focus your thoughts on your day and staying empty. If you are taking things personal that is your ego and nothing happens to you without the will of The Most High. Accept your lot in life and be happy you are being challenged. The more aware you are of this — the better.

You will find when you are empty and filled with the Holy Spirit life becomes amazing. It is then you will know The Most High is real and nothing will ever compare to this. The trick is staying in this state of mind. Good luck and God bless you all.
