ONE of the PALACES of KING DAVID Found!

A glorious day for biblical evidence as one of King David’s palace is discovered! Close to Jerusalem is the uncovered fortress city of King David. Archeologist excavated a pair of building structures which belonged to King David including a storeroom. It is theorized the storeroom was designed to stored grains and other agricultural harvest. Olive seeds were discovered and carbon-14 dated to King David’s era.

“The discovery was made at Khirbet Qeiyafa near Beit Shemesh southwest of Jerusalem, said Professor Yossi Garfinkel of the Hebrew University and Saar Ganor of the Israel Antiquities Authority on Thursday. Over the past year, the researchers uncovered the two buildings at the site, which is believed by some to be the fortified Judean city of Shaarayim. According to the biblical record, after David smote Goliath, the Philistines were slaughtered on the road to Shaarayim as they fled. Shaarayim means “two gates,” and Khirbet Qeiyafa has two gates in its walls.”

Two gates are also part of the discovery which corroborate Biblical accounts known as “Shaarayim” — meaning two gates.  More to come as archeologist continue to analyze this sacred site. King David is arguably one of the most popular biblical people. He killed Goliath in an epic battle using only a stone. This is truly a major find! Remember this is one of many palaces of King David.
