Pigs, Demons, and Water Portals

Pigs, Demons, and Water Portals

We are seeing more spirit activity these days and some are dark while others appear “helpful.” I say that in the sense that some of “them” are not causing the person to eat handfuls of spiders or pose in back breaking contortions; just take a look at modern day magicians. The spirit world appears to be another Universe unto itself filled with many different spirits. One thing is for sure they all bow to the authority of the Son of the Father. Jesus has complete power over these spirits and can banish them with a word or a prayer.

I was reading one of my antique books titled, “Chaldean Magic: Its Origin and Development” by Francois Lenormant (1837 – 1833) and it was explaining the spirit world . . . it too said all of the spirits must bow to the Son of Man! To read such an old book that researched Chaldean Magic is such a confirmation of the power Christ yields in the material and spiritual world.  It leads me to contemplate what are the transitory elements between the worlds. How are the barriers breached so these spirits can manifest in the physical realm?

There is a scripture many theologians and biblical scholars over the years analyzed and deconstructed regarding the demon extraction by Jesus. This was a case of a double-demon order for Christ because two men emerged from the tombs and he knew they were possessed just by looking at them. I wonder if Christ was looking at their pupils for slits in addition to their body convulsions.  Whatever the case Christ knew these men needed an act of affordable spontaneous health care in order to save them from being demonic playgrounds.

Let’s take a look at the ancient Holy Spirit inspired testimony by Matthew:

Matthew 8:28-34

28 When He arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met Him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29 “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?”

30 Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31 The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”

32 He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water. 33 Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. 34 Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they pleaded with Him to leave their region.

Now there are some discrepancies between the books of Luke and Mark in relationship to the account in Matthew but I do not want to focus on this.  The main theme is: possession, extraction, pigs, suicide, water, and healing. I have taken note the majority of the scholars and theologians have become fascinated with the pigs in the story. Most of them conclude because pigs are an unclean animal the demons “chose” them to possess.

Colossians 2:16-17

Therefore let no man judge you in eating and drinking or in respect of a festival or of an observance of the new moon or of a sabbath; for those things are a shadow of the things to come, but the reality belongs to the Christ

We also have another scripture addressing what goes into the mouth here:

Matthew 15:11

“What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

So why the obsession with the pigs? They were just there by happenstance. I submit to you the pigs were a casualty of opportunity from the demonic perspective. The demons “begged” to be “placed” into the herd of pigs. They were not chosen because they are unclean but because of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. In essence, the demons looked at the pigs as taxis. They were not interested in a symbiotic relationship with the pigs but as a vehicle to the water. The demons wasted no time either; they ran directly into the river and killed the pigs.

Deities: Obviously there are tons of gods and goddesses of the seas and oceans. I searched for god/esses that could be used primarily for household water– wells, fountains — or god/esses of laundry. Here are a few that I found: (Source)

  • The Crinaeae: Greek/Roman; a type of nymph associated with fountains
  • Naiads or Naiades: Greek; a type of nymph who presided over fountains and wells (also springs, streams, and brooks)
  • Mokosz (MOH-kosh): Slavic Goddess, who when happy with her offerings of vegetables would help women with their laundry.
  • Saule (sew-lay): Baltic goddess of sun and sea who is also a hearth goddess who oversees all spheres of domestic work, including laundering
  • Camenae: Roman; A nymph of wells and spring water
  • Laga: Norse goddess of springs and wells
  • Nethus: Roman; God of wells and fresh water
  • Fontus: Roman, God of fountains

This is another important fact that pigs were killed by the demons. The pigs did not commit suicide because pigs can swim. This is not commonly know but pigs swim in deep water! What the theologians and biblical scholars have missed is the fact the demons needed the pigs to be in the water when they died.

This story gives us insight into the applications used in the realm of spirit. Water must be one of the transitory element between the physical and the spiritual realms. These demons pleaded with Christ not to just cast them out of the man. This would mean they would be disembodied spirits. They need a host to survive in the physical realm. These demons demonstrated fear of being cast out and this fear was eliminated when Jesus agreed to cast them into the pigs.

Man is made up of over 65% of water. It is used by our cells and our brains float in it; it is the essence of our blood. Could water be the common element that connects us all together as one? Is it the ultimate conductor and thread of our multidimensional being?

It is also interesting to note the demons spread between the entire herd. They did not possess just one pig as they did the man (or men); depending on the version of events. This suggest there are more spiritual “rooms” in the soul than that of an animal. If this was not the case the demons could have possessed one pig and kill the one pig. There was a need to possess the herd. I submit to you, if all the demons would have possessed the one pig they knew they would kill the pig.

If the demons killed the pig on land they would be in the same proverbial boat as if Jesus just cast them out. The demons had an exit strategy because they realized it was not the appointed time for the final assault by Christ. It was also an act of mercy from Christ because it was another example of love your enemy. Christ could have denied the demonic request with impunity yet he demonstrated mercy. I am sure the herd of pigs would not agree with this analysis.

With all this being said let’s attempt to bring clarity to the pigs being killed in the water. First, the pigs were denied their natural instinct to swim. The demons made sure the pigs drowned. Once the pigs were dead the human observation had ceased. What follows were spiritual mechanics the demons were well acquainted. As these demons left their host the water allowed them to travel.

The water represented the escape route back to the realm of spirit . . . safely. Hollywood uses the water portal in many of their movies, such as: Stargate, The Box, and Constantine, etc. Water is the bridge between the worlds and the occult world is well aware of this. Now we know the demons did not chose the pigs because they are unclean animals. They were nothing more that taxis. The sad thing about that day is a lot of bacon died.

In closing we have learned even the demonic kingdom know there is an expiration date to their existence. Christ was not only concerned with the well being of man but also practiced mercy on malicious spirits. Demons fear being released into the physical atmosphere because they become disembodied spirits with no control. Water appears to be a safe zone to these spirits because it allows them an escape route to the other world. We need to change are thinking from material to spiritual by doing so we are better able to understand our enemy.
