Sex, Lies, and the Serpent

Sex, Lies, and the Serpent

Sex is so pervasive in society, you almost can’t walk out your door with your eyes open anymore. Movies, television including news, cartoons, and commercials are nothing short of soft porn these days. Video games are in on the action too and the music industry is just plain smut. Sex is forced upon us from every conceivable direction. Worse yet pornography is now a top American export (Source) and is a $97 billion a year industry globally (Source). You read that right billion with a “b.” This seems very reminiscent of the baal worshipping culture of Israel after the conquest of Canaan. Illicit sex and sexual promiscuity are\were at the core of pagan worship of Baal\Marduk and Astarte\Ishtar (Source).

According to a survey of data published in the Journal of Internet Law, in 2005 pornography accounted for 69% of the total pay-per-view Internet content market, outpacing news, sports, and video games.

Sex permeates our eyes and ears constantly and yet, it is one of the most misunderstood aspects of human existence. I do not claim to be an authority on this subject, but I have been seeking revelation to clear up the vast misconceptions and misunderstandings of sex in society…its origin, its purpose and why it has become THE THING that drives the ambitions of mankind.

This topic has confused and at times frustrated me. Perhaps not unlike you, I have wondered why, if sex is such a wonderful gift from God (as Christendom purports it to be, the people who understand sex the least IMHO), does it cause so much grief, anguish, and destruction for so many people.

Stop and think for just a minute how many stories you’ve heard of illicit sex or sex\pornography addiction ruining someone’s life. They are about as common as the phrase, good morning. It doesn’t only ruin those involved, but the consequences often reach a hand of destruction out to many of those closest to the ones involved. Even married people struggle with this gift, the very people to whom the gift was given. Sex is starting to sound more like a curse than a gift.

Destroyed

Why is sex such a problematic wonderful gift? Perhaps I am alone in wondering, maybe we just accept the way things are and don’t give it much thought. I don’t know, but this enquiring mind wants to know.  The sexualization of society is something that has grown more and more blatant over the last 50-75 years. It is in your face with no shame.

There is no question that the media, music, and marketing industries have a very good working knowledge of how to use sex appeal to influence society to their advantage and further their agenda. Keep in mind that the Satan worshipping elite control these industries. I find it interesting that pagan mysticism and the Occult have a better understanding of this “wonderful gift” and how to use it for their purposes than those who profess faith in the Most High.

It is also interesting that “the church” claims sex is a wonderful gift from God, but has spent hundreds of years suppressing sex and sexual desire in church goers. How disenchanting, something is definitely amiss here. Truth about this subject has either been lost, misunderstood, or deliberately concealed.

Coincidentally a 2013 survey now reports 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography (Source). Pornography is one of the most destructive implements the enemy uses against us in my opinion. Porn short circuits the wiring in the brain. It changes the way we relate to other people, particularly the opposite sex. It is addictive, and warps the mind in unimaginable ways.

I believe fresh perspective and understanding of sex and spirituality are essential. As I researched this topic, the shroud of mystery grew darker and was lifted a little at the same time. Scripture concerning sex just didn’t make much sense, something was missing. It did not begin to make sense until I started to look a little closer at the original human sin in the Garden of Eden.

In general most biblical teaching blames the fall of man on a piece of fruit. If the original human sin was eating a piece of forbidden fruit then everything I am about to say is absolute nonsense, BUT if the original sin was sexual seduction by the serpent, and illicit sex with the serpent then this subject gets a whole lot clearer.

In my opinion the teaching that the fall of the entire human race is attributed to Eve taking a bite of a piece of fruit just doesn’t add up. If, however, Eve was sexually seduced by the serpent, well that is an entirely different matter. In fact, the word fornication in scripture which we equate illicit sex with is synonymous with idolatry in the original language. The narrative of the serpent tempting Eve in Genesis 3 bears this out.

Genesis 3:4-5

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

The rest of scripture makes so much more sense with this supposition. The most high often referred to the nation of Israel as adulterers or harlots when they were steeped in idolatry and knowing that illicit sex is at the core of pagan idol worship seems to shed some light on the mystery. Also, When you consider how illicit sex is still destroying lives even now in much the same way it did Adam and Eve and the nation of ancient Israel, it just reinforces the idea that fall of man is the result of sexual sin. We even have a euphemism that refers to illicit sex as “the forbidden fruit”, how telling. The enemy hasn’t changed his strategy much, he just has more outlets through which to seduce and corrupt.

Ecclesiastes 1:9

9 History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.

Upon closer inspection, then virgin birth of our redeemer even gives credence to the idea that the fall of man was caused by sexual sin. Christ was not born of fallen human seed nor was he conceived by sexual intercourse. This seems to indicate that not only the seed of man was defiled, but so was the method by which man procreates. To me it is not a difficult connection to make, but my point is not to debate the fall of man. My hope is that it will help pull back the veil that shrouds this topic in mystery.

Hebrews 13:4 is very interesting and I think makes more sense in the light of sexual sin in the Garden of Eden.

Hebrews 13:4

4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

This word undefiled means indeed sexual intercourse is free from that by which the nature of a thing is deformed and debased, or its force and vigour impaired.

This seems to indicate that the nature of sex is deformed and debased unless it is with the one you are married to. Wow, does humanity struggle with this one. I have only ever heard this verse taught to mean that anything goes in the marriage bed. This could prove to be a dangerous philosophy, especially in the sexual climate in which we live, but I digress.

This raises the question, why is sex debased and deformed unless you are married? Contrary to popular belief, it is not because God is mean, or he wants you to be frustrated, or miss out on a good time. That’s silly. The Most High God loves you; he does not impose rules because he can. He has a very good reason for everything he does, either to protect or benefit us in some way.

Before Eve sinned there was no separation between God and mankind, meaning Adam and Eve could visit with God in person, if you will. After Adam and Eve sinned, God placed a veil of spiritual separation between mankind and the spirit dimension. The sin in the garden caused spiritual death for Adam and Eve. Eve’s trisk with the serpent was not merely a physical union; it was also a spiritual union with very severe physical and spiritual consequences.

veil

It is often taught that you become one with any person you have sex with. This is rarely explained and without explanation almost sounds metaphorical. Sex is not merely a physical union, it is a soul and spirit union as well. Your soul is entwined with anyone that you have sex with, otherwise known as a soul tie. These soul ties get transferred to anyone else that you have sex with (some research even suggest that male DNA is also left behind permanently with the female (Source)). Eve had a soul tie to Satan, and so did Adam after he had sex with Eve. God was not down with this.

These two verses use the same Hebrew word where the word one is translated in English. It refers to the triune body, soul, and spirit.

Genesis 2:24

HEB: וְהָי֖וּלְבָשָׂ֥ר אֶחָֽד

KJV: unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Genesis 3:22

HEB: הָֽאָדָם֙הָיָה֙ כְּאַחַ֣ד מִמֶּ֔נּוּלָדַ֖עַת

KJV: the man is become as one of us, to know

For this reason God instituted some boundaries for sex. The rules are, in a nutshell: don’t have sex until you are married, and only have sex with the one you are married to. This should be fairly simple and straightforward…but evidently it is not. Under the Levitical law illicit sex carried the penalty of death. If you were caught having sex outside of the established boundaries, you were taken outside the camp and stoned, there was no grace.

That is an awfully severe penalty and again there is a very good reason for this.

In 1 Corinthians 6:18 Paul wrote to the Corinthians (who had some incredible issues with illicit sex):

1 Corinthians 6:18

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Two words in this verse have very insightful meanings in the original language.

body- body (derived from a word that means to save from the evils which obstruct the reception of the Messianic deliverance of the body of man)

Fornication: (each of the words below is derived from the word that follows it)

Porneia-illicit sexual intercourse

Porneuo-to prostitute one’s body to the lust of another; to give one’s self to unlawful sexual intercourse

Porne- a woman who sells her body for sexual uses; a prostitute, a harlot, one who yields herself to defilement for the sake of gain; any woman indulging in unlawful sexual intercourse, whether for gain or for lust

Pornos- a man who prostitutes his body to another’s lust for hire; a male prostitute; a man who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse, a fornicator

Piprasko-(from the peran which means to traverse)to sell; of price, one into slavery; of the master to whom one is sold as a slave

Peran- (from an obsolete derivative of peiro (to “pierce”)) beyond, on the other side

What I believe this to mean is: every sin affects the human body externally except for sexual sin. Sexual sin affects mankind in the soul and spirit and can be an evil obstruction to Messianic deliverance of the body of man. If this is correct, illicit sex can be an obstruction to salvation.  This is serious business.

The first four greek words above basically spell out illicit sex, and interestingly all of them begin with porn…hmmm. The last two Greek words, piprasko and peran, mean “to sell into slavery, traverse and pierce beyond, on the other side.”  I believe this to mean that we traverse into and pierce through the veil into the spirit dimension and sell ourselves into slavery if we engage in illicit sex. Things go from bad to worse here. First illicit sex obstructs salvation, now it sells us in to slavery. Be assured that the slave master is no friend of yours.

…the vibration of sexual energy is so high and intense it transcends into the spiritual realm.

There are two kinds of beings in the spirit dimension: God and his angels and Satan and his malevolent minions. Essentially, illicit sex makes us spiritually available to malevolent spirits for demoniac meddling in our lives. I think it goes without saying that this is a very bad thing and explains why illicit sex can be an obstruction to salvation. It also explains why the enemy uses it so ubiquitously.

Much of the research about sex and the spiritual affects bear this out. In fact, in sex magic the body is used as a portal to the spiritual dimension to be used as a host for demonic spirits. This is possible because the vibration of sexual energy transcends into the spiritual realm.

If we stay within the boundaries established by the Most High, sexual union between a man and woman who are committed to each other for life (married), can be a life giving spiritual encounter with the Most High. The spiritual aspect of sex is a reminder to us of what we lost in the Garden of Eden and a glimpse of what we have to look forward to in eternity if we are believers. Sex truly is a wonderful gift.

Knowing all of this, it is easy to see why we are driven by sexual desire. We want to get back to communion with God the way Adam and Eve experienced before the fall. It is no wonder that film makers, music makers, and marketers use sex at every opportunity to push their agenda. The deepest human desire is to commune with the Most High. This desire is being high jacked and used against us.

The enemy will seek to derail our communion with the most high at every opportunity. I believe this is why hyper-sexualization has taken over society.

Unfortunately, this does not answer why Christendom expends so much energy suppressing and misinforming church goers. The church attaches so much shame to sex. That shame even plagues marriages, where sex should be a “wonderful gift” …so sad. All sin is shameful not just sexual sin. The spiritual consequences of illicit sex are a far more serious issue than the shame we have associated with sex.

Where the enemy attempts to hijack sex for his purpose, the church tries to suppress it. I think I can say with certainty that the enemy is at work here too. He will use any tactic he can to keep us from the divine sexual experience that the Most High intended for us.

The church teaches that illicit sex is shameful because of unplanned pregnancy or because of sexually transmitted diseases, which is true but hardly cause enough to deter. The soul of man is of far greater importance, why does “the church” neglect this?

Matthew 10:28

28 “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

The dangers of illicit sex are for worse than pregnancy or disease. Pregnancy and disease are nothing compared to the spiritual consequences. It is obvious from this (among many other things) that the enemy has infiltrated “the church.”

With that, I will close with a verse often quoted at Revelation Now, I think it aptly applies:

Ephesians 6:12

12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
