Where Are We In Biblical and Ancient Prophecy?

The speed of life in America is designed to distract you from the important things in life. It is the pursuit of money and your survival needs which is the greatest distraction in this life. We rarely have time for reflection and we certainly do not have time to fulfill our spiritual needs. Sadly, we will not always have time to discover or fulfill our spiritual needs because time is running out. Yes, there is even a time the Holy Spirit will be removed from the Earth!

Many people are unaware that we are in what is called the “Last Days” in the Bible and in between Ages according to other ancient prophecies. The Bible is unparalleled when it comes to prophesy, but many other ancient cultures speak from the same wellspring of truth. What does it mean to be in the “Last Days?”  Frankly, it means the time before a major global cataclysmic event. The difference for Biblical prophesy is this global cataclysmic event preempts the return of true King of this world.

The question is how do we know we are in the “Last Days?” According to the Book of Matthew, Chapter 24, verses 4-8, the Disciples ask Jesus what will be the signs of His return. Jesus replies, “4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

We will circle back to the earthquakes after we clarify and qualify earthquakes according to Luke 21:11. Here Jesus says, “11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” Now we know earthquakes will have to be considered “great” to qualify with the prophecy. On October 25, 2014, NBC News produced a report on great earthquakes and it proves we are living in the time of great earthquakes.

The annual number of “great” earthquakes nearly tripled over the last decade, providing a reminder to Americans that unruptured faults like those in the northwest United States might be due for a Big One.

Between 2004 and 2014, 18 earthquakes with magnitudes of 8.0 or more rattled subduction zones around the globe. That's an increase of 265 percent over the average rate of the previous century, which saw 71 great quakes, according to a report to the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America this week in Vancouver, British Columbia.

There should be no doubt we are experiencing an upswing of great earthquakes and conjoined with the rest of the prophecy in Matthew 24:4-8, this validates we are in the ‘Beginning of the Sorrows.’ The Bible is not the only who prophesied account regarding great earth changes at the end of the Age. One of the Mayan prophecies based on the end of their long count calendar on December 21, 2012, was extreme global changes. These changes included strong winds, heavy rains, floods and great earthquakes. The Mayans have remarkable similarities with Christianity.

They believed in One Creator, they called the “Father” and share similar prophecies with the Bible. I previously mentioned their global change prophecy and they have another one as well. Another of their prophecies state, “When their signal (vibration) is raised up high, when they raise it with the Tree of Life, all will suddenly change in one blow. And the successor of the first tree of the land will appear and the change will be manifested for all.” This prophecy sounds remarkably similar to 1 Corinthians 15:52, where it says, “52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Both of these ancient narratives speak of great earth changes and an event that changes the consciousness of all humankind on the Earth. This is an exciting time to be alive because the world is in need of change. There seems to be a lot of fear associated with this time, but it certainly sounds like the fulfillment of hope to me. What is the highest level in the tree of life? This must mean humankind is about to reach its full potential! Imagine a time of true brotherly love transcending the negative attributes of man and the elimination of the dregs of humanity.

Obviously, this time will come with casualties from global disasters, but not the end of human life on Earth. Life will go on and mankind will experience a new Age in a new world. The Hopi prophecy speaks of this same thing and they too share a Biblical and Mayan narrative of prophecy. The Hopi elders shared their prophecy and they too spoke of extreme Earth changes. They spoke of earthquakes, seasons being out of whack, damaging floods, and famines before the end of the Age.

As a result of extreme earthquakes, we are seeing a by-product of them in the form of sinkholes. Science has now proven these great earthquakes are changing the flow of water underneath the Earth. There is also a correlation between sinkholes and a prophecy in the Book of Isaiah. In Isaiah 24:17-20, it states a message to inhabitants of the Earth, “17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. 18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake. 19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. 20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

In my opinion, this speaks to the time we are living in now and a future time. It sounds like this prophecy is related to the great earthquake spoken of in Revelation 6:9, as well. What is fascinating is the fact the word “dissolved” is used in the same breath as pits. This is exactly how sinkholes are formed on karst terrain where excessive rains dissolved the salt flats underneath and cause massive holes in the terrain. As you can see all of the answers are there for us in an ancient prophecy. Which ancient prophecy you choose to believe all speak of the same time with a remarkably similar narrative.

The Bible goes even further and is even more distinctive in describing the signs of the “Last Days.” For example, the prophetic book Revelations speaks of a river drying up in the “Last Days” called the Euphrates River. Revelation 16:12 states, “12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river the Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” In July of 2009, the New York Times ran a post, “Iraq Suffers as the Euphrates River Dwindles.” This is all the proof I need we are the “Last Days” according to three different cultures with prophecy. How about you?
