Trump’s Cheerleader James Davis: Bastardizing Jesus and Politics

Facebook was in the hot seat today in the Senate and sometimes I am in the hot seat with preachers on Facebook. Over the year I have observed James Davis, a black preacher, out of Ohio, who has positioned himself as a cheerleader for President Trump. His platform is simple former President Obama was a failure for black people and President Trump is the great white hope…for black people. Now I have no problem with political activism, but when bastardized with the teachings of Jesus…they do not blend.

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. – Matthew 6:24

There is no Biblical account where Jesus involved Himself with the politics of Rome. Jesus came to demonstrate and teach mankind our own human capabilities merged with Spirit. I had the opportunity to exchange with James Davis on Facebook because of his post. In his post, James Davis was sounding the alarm about President Trump’s lawyer’s office being raided by the FBI. Davis, made a comment “who cares who Trump slept with?” This is alarming for a preacher to speak like this because of adultery being prohibited in the Bible!

Davis, then referenced Daniel in the Bible and it was obvious cherry-picking of Scripture was at play.  I asked James Davis Jesus never involved Himself in the politics of Rome. Is there any Scripture where Jesus endorsed a Roman politician and addressed the political platforms of Rome? To my knowledge, there is no case. James Davis responded to these question quite defensively and informed there are many cases in the Bible where men of God worked in a political capacity, but there are no examples of Jesus doing this.

Jesus instructed us to follow His ways and not the ways of other Biblical characters. John 14:6, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  James Davis, was offended I used the word “bastardize” when it came to blending politics with the teachings of Jesus. This word is spot-on because there is no evidence Jesus blending politics with His teachings. Even when people attempted to trap Jesus into politics he made sure these two Kingdoms were distinctly separate.

Jesus came to demonstrate the human potential using Spirit and men like James Davis cannot demonstrate one Biblical miracle performed by Jesus or His Disciples. I have heard people refer to James Davis as a “house negro”, but I do not believe that is the case. I believe he is a political activist who is combining the two distinct Kingdoms. I true representative of the Word will always promote Biblical laws and principles first and not make statements like, “Who cares who President Trump slept with.”

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ... Romans 13:1-7 ESV

You know who does care who President Trump sleeps with? The Most High does and James Davis should have made that clear. It appears he is more concerned with harping on allegations regarding the former President. Why do we follow these preachers who use the Bible to promote their own agendas which are not in line with the teachings of Jesus? The Holy Spirit made sure people respect government’s authority and accept the governmental system. What James David did not do is ask President Trumpt to repent for his wrong doing to protect him. Instead of saying, “Who cares who President Trump slept with.” James Davis claimed he read the Bible cover-to-cover, but what good is that if he cannot rightly divide Scripture?

It would be more powerful for James Davis to actually demonstrate what Jesus taught so he could be a living example. Right now he is just another black preacher exploiting the Bible to enter politics. James Davis needs to make a choice to be a political activist or a student of the teachings of Jesus. You cannot do both and we have no example of Jesus doing both. I was warned by this “man of God” I had one more time to use the word bastardize with him or I would be blocked. That threat lasted 5 minutes and he blocked me. There is a phrase down south that says, “I kicked dog screams the loudest.”
