You are hearing a lot of chatter on the media horn these days regarding dead birds falling from the sky. I am sure many Blogs, Web Sites and YouTube producers are going to run away way with this. They will say say, you better get right with Jesus, these are the End Times!  The rapture is right around the corner you better be ready! Dead birds falling from the sky, is another sign.

Take all of these warnings with a grain of salt. First, please understand this. The Bible was written over a period of 1,600 years, by 40 authors, who lived on 3 different continents and spoke 3 different languages. This means a person should be an expert in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek to understand the true and original translations of the “Word”.  Most of these so called modern day prophets do not have these credentials.

Please watch this video to have a scientific and biological understanding, regarding the phenomenon,  on the latest dead bird story.

I would also like to add, birds have a built-in magnetic GPS, in their brains,  and the magnetic field of the Earth is fluctuating; consequently, causing  birds to die and whales to beach themselves, etc.  As you can see from the video this is not something “End Time” related. Or is it?  One can argue a God is controlling the magnetic field of the Earth, and intentionally killing the birds! Welcome to theology school!

Now let’s take a look at Bible scripture and see if “dead birds” will fall in the Last Days.

There are 2 prophets, Hosea and Zephaniah, in the Old Testament, who speak of birds and fish being swept away or consumed. The question is what times are they referring to, now or then?  Let’s take a look at this scripture for context:

Hosea 4:1-3

The Charge Against Israel

 1 Hear the word of the LORD, you Israelites,
   because the LORD has a charge to bring
   against you who live in the land:
“There is no faithfulness, no love,
   no acknowledgment of God in the land.
2 There is only cursing,[a] lying and murder,
   stealing and adultery;
they break all bounds,
   and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
3 Because of this the land dries up,
   and all who live in it waste away;
the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
   and the fish in the sea are swept away.

These men were prophesying of specific kings and during the times of specific kings. Hosea speaks of Jeroboam while Zephaniah prophecies during the reign of the righteous King Josiah – so the people could not blame their unrighteousness on the king’s command. So for this verse it should not be taken out of context.

Now I am not saying I am an expert with Scripture. I am no more qualified than anyone else who is not an expert in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.  If you look at the following other verses in the Bible maybe these scriptures are referring to now.

Ezekiel 14:12-21 says that when a nation gets to a certain level of sinfulness, God starts killing the animals (Jer 12:4)

If you look at Zephaniah, God expands the prophecy to include His judgment on the entire earth: Zeph 2:8-14, 3:8-10.

Hosea 4:3 could be taken as a principle that God kills off birds, fish, beasts as a warning when a nation sins (Ezekiel 14)

In closing, I am on the fence with these “signs”. It could be natural or it could be supernatural. We have seen a decline in the moral values in America. This is never more clear than by watching the television. One day place your TV on mute (preferably after 8:00 pm) and zip through the channels. I guarantee you will run through the channels and see a string of murders, sex, violence, drinking, smoking, and provocative dancing! From a spiritual standpoint, it does not look good for the ole USA!
